The first of two qualifying sessions will start at 19:15 here at Le Mans. Hideki Noda will take out the Lola Mazda #39 for some 90% laps to check out the car following the off-course excursion last night. The incident has been replayed over and over again on French TV but the reality is that it looked worse than it was. We expect Matthew Marsh then Jean de Pourtales to follow.
During qualifying sessions, drivers must achieve a lap time at least equal to 125 % of the average of the 3 best laps set by 3 cars of different makes, and at least equal to 115 % of the best time achieved by the fastest car in each of the four classes. Furthermore, they have to do a minimum of 3 laps during night time qualifying sessions. RLT.
