Morning warm-up at Le Mans

The morning warm-up session is underway here at Le Mans. Update from Matthew Marsh: "The team worked through the night to get the car ready. It was a long job to change the engine and box, and generally prepare for the race, but should have been done by dinner time. However there were a number of problems after the installation e.g. a failed alternator and a blocked or collapsed oil cooler. The work was finished about 6.30am. Not a great way to start the longest day in sportscar racing!"
The Flex-Box dinner at the Auberge de Mulsanne, on the Mulsanne straight, was a glittering occasion last night with team guests meeting Matthew Marsh and Jean de Portales - seafood salad, steak and profiteroles for your scribe washed down by a splendid vin rouge. Many thanks to Henrik Nielsen. It is tough job but somebody has to do it!
