"As you probably saw I was enjoying myself. The car was trouble free until the lap after I did the 3:57. I felt a loss of power and guessed it was exhaust related. We tried a different ECU map setting but this made no difference. Then we did the fuel stop and the guys downloaded the data. I went out again whilst they analysed the data and concluded that, indeed, the problem was exhaust related. So I then returned to the pits. Once it became clear the problem would take about 30-minutes to cure it was decided Hideki would take over. I am now having a bowl of pasta and will then have a sleep!"
