SPA 1000 KILOMETRES - 5th in class

After the dust had settled on a hectic 1000 kilometres race at Spa we - the KSM team - were finally awarded fifth place in the LMP2 class and 28th overall.

With only a few laps to go Francesco encountered a problem with the gearbox of car 39. He was stationary by the side of the circuit for some time but was able to bring the car across the line using the starter motor to push the car along. At the time we were shown as the eighth place finisher in LMP2. However at the technical checks after the race four cars were excluded from the results - of which three were LMP2 cars. We were thus promoted to fifth place - and scored two championship points. A sweet end to a busy afternoon.
