Home to the Hills - Home again

Dateline Thursday 21st May 2009 - Nurburgring, Germany.

"Welcome my friends to the show that never ends" ( Emerson, Lake and Palmer - 1970 something !) Ian H-B standing in for Rupert L-T ( Hyphenated Bloggers Inc.)

Well here we are again, back in the wonderful Eifel Mountains, at the Nordschleife or "Grune Holle"( Green Hell) as the locals call it, and it has just started raining !!.
"Welche überraschung" *(see below)

Matthew is back to drive the Bonk Motorsport 996 GT3 for the third time at what is his favourite track.

Timed practice is due to start at 19.30 local time,(in 8 minutes as I type this ) which is why the rain has just arrived !

Free practice has not been incident free and there were some fuel delivery related issues which reduced their running time so Matthew has not driven the car yet.
As the photo shows, plan "B" -pushing the car round - has a few drawbacks but fortunately the fuel issues seem to have been sorted and the plan now is to send all 3 drivers out to do 2 laps each and then park the car to save it for the race.

Currently the thought is to not even run tomorrow - in which case we may have to improvise on the reporting ( 10 things to tell Gordon Brown over a Curry dinner, Barack Obama's Top 10 favourite Motown Records - that sort of thing !)

Off to take photos of wet racing cars and drivers - back soon !

* ( "What a surprise!" -at least I hope that is the correct translation - if not, - Sorry !)
