Good Morning - Good Morning

Race Day - Nurburgring.

We come to you from the sun-drenched Nordschliefe, quite a change from Thursday. Clear blue skies and a gentle breeze make it a very pleasant place to be, noisy, but pleasant.
We are hoping this will continue but the forecast is rain on Sunday and from past years experience a warm sunny day like today can lead to fog during the night/ early morning - that is on top of the thick smoke that blows across the track from the 1000's of camp fires and barbeques as the enthusiastic fans settle in for their weekend.
My only concern is with the amount of pork being sacrificied around here we might get "Swine Hayfever" !!!!

We plan to give updates on Car 51's progress and how it deals with it's " nervousness". Hopefully after a good night's rest it is feeling better. It is in Class SP6 and we will be watching how it progresses in that class and overall. Other cars in the class are BMW Z4M and M3 and Nissan 350/370Z.

We will also give updates on the race progress overall, the fight up front between the Ford GT, Audi R8's and Porsche and BMW hordes.

Especially for Rupert L-T we are seeking out photographs of the Audi R8's and will post accordingly. One of the Audi press staff, Elizabeth ( Betty) Humpter will be keeping us appraised of the team's progress.

Currently there is a driver's parade and the cars move to the grid around 14.30 for the 16.00 start.

Car 51 is in the first wave of 59 cars, starting from the outside of the 21st row. Wolfgang Dess is starting the car and Matthew is scheduled to take the second stint.
